You just watched a video of Kini when she was 7 years old...she started learning Polynesian dance at the age of 2 from here Aunt Tani Okalani. Tani is still one of the best Polynesian choreographers in the United States, as well as being an award winning female Fire Knife and Fire Poi Balls performer. (see video below)
Let's fast forward to the present
Hula-Kini-ONa-Okalani
Kini is now married with 3 beautiful children. She is teaching hula as well as dances from the Polynesian Islands…such as Maori, Tahiti, and the heart of Polynesia - Samoa.
Kini has been teaching hula for over 15 years, at various locations such as the city of Monterey Park~Parks and Recreation, numerous Elementary Schools, and private & group lessons.
"I feel blessed to have been taught from my Aunty and now carry on my family’s legacy and tradition branching off from the Okalani’s Polynesian Revue.”
Kini Today
Her love for dance and hula is in her heart and she hopes to be able to “spread the aloha” by teaching others the techniques and basics that were taught to her as a child.
She is currently on hiatus and we hope that she will be back to teaching & performing very soon!
